Why Spray Foam?

Spray Foam is a cost effective and quality solution

Polyurethane foams have one of the highest insulating R-values per inch of all the available products. With typical values ranging from 3.5 to 7 per inch, it is possible to maximize efficiency, increase space utilization and reduce operating costs, while having thinner walls and a lower profile roof.

Studies show that increasing the thickness of your roof insulation by 1″ or move about the ASHRAE required thickness significantly reduces your energy costs. SPF sealants that are applied to cracks around window frames expand to fill energy-wasting (escaping) gaps around the window, which increases your buildings energy efficiency.

Energy studies performed by Texas A & M on their own roofs show the energy cost reductions obtained by applying SPF to more than 8 million square feet of roofing paid for the cost of the retrofit in a little over three years. Cool roofs (using reflective plastic coverings over SPF insulated roofs) bounce sunlight and radiant heat away from a building, helping the structure stay cool and reducing energy use for cooling.

The multiple benefits of open and closed cell spray applied foams give you the advantage of being able to use one product to solve multiple concerns of the home or building owner. Each type of foam, open and closed cell, comes with a number of benefits such as sound control, vapor barriers, and structural integrity that cannot be found in traditional insulation methods. Spray foam reduces your overall labor and material costs with its characteristics.

Closed-cell spray foam insulation is the only type of insulation that is a FEMA approved vapor barrier. This product is rigid in nature and adds structural strength to all types of homes and buildings. The product can provide flood protection, prevent wind damage and uplift, as well as provide the most efficient and environmentally friendly option for insulation available in today’s market.

Spray foam insulation is free of all HFAs, HCFCs, HFCs, and formaldehyde. Spray Foam is chemically dead product once cured. Spray foam insulation is one of the most effective methods to preventing mold in homes. This gives you the comfort of knowing you have built a healthy and completely sustainable product.

How will I get service and support?

Backed by the strongest warranty in the industry, with the full service approach and technicians on call 24 hours a day, SprayWorks Equipment Group offers advanced mechanic classes to assure your applicators are trained in the most up to date approaches to maintenance and technical repair. We also keep fully equipped rigs for rent as an addition support feature and product offering. If you are in need of additional repairs or equipment support, we have mechanics available for equipment maintenance and repairs as well as 24-hour tech support for existing customers.

How much does the material cost?

Materials are generally priced geographically. The “A” & “B” liquids are packaged in each of their own individual containers, usually 55 gallon style drums and paired together. The two drums are referred to as a “set”. Spray foam sets are sold by the pound and weight about 1000 lbs combined. Where Polyurea sets are sold by the gallon and contain about 110 gallons total combined. Contact one of our sales representatives today to determine how much material you need. Or visit our online store for a list of materials offered.

Do I have to be certified?

Most of the major manufactures, in an attempt to assure quality product stewardship, require some level of certification in order to purchase their materials. Certifications can be obtained through distribution networks, equipment suppliers and material manufactures. Some state and jurisdictional authorities have made it mandatory to obtain certification and, in some cases, require accreditation through a recognized resource. You can get training directly through SprayWorks – offered free with the purchase of some equipment.

How much do I charge for my services and projects?

In most cases the largest cost of a project will fall on material cost and preparation. Due to the nature of the materials and the ability to control the application with equipment and very little manpower, installation costs are generally low. How do I estimate material coverage?

The manufacturing and installation of spray foam and Polyurea membranes takes place simultaneously, therefore an emphasis is placed on manufacturing and processing controls. Actual true yield of a set is primarily determined by on-site conditions that exist when manufacturing the products. Overall yield is affected by the substrate profile, ambient temperature, surface temperature, catalytic speed, wind and method of application. Contact a material specialist today to determine your material needs.

What is the difference between shore power rigs and “Turn-key” Rigs?

The difference is in the equipment package. Turn-key rigs provide both power and air to complete your equipment needs, all in one package. Shore Power Rigs require one or both power and air to be supplied from a separate source. Learn more about our spray foam rigs and coatings rigs.

Where do I buy products?

SprayWorks offers a full line of equipment, parts, material, rigs, and training. Due to equipment popularity most manufactures are set up through both distribution and direct purchasing, depending on volume and credit availability. Distribution warehouses are located strategically to deliver within 1-2 business days and stock the more commonly used products for customer pick up. SprayWorks has an online store with a full line of products. We also provide affordable financing.

What is the cost of a machine?

Machine prices will vary from machine to machine and manufacture. Air operated machines (starting in the low 8k range) generally cost the least while the more reliable electric/hydraulic machines (12k – 27k) are greater in cost. The supporting hoses, guns, transfer pumps and spare parts can be as much or more as the actual machine price. Contact one of our sales representatives today to see which machine fits your business needs.

What equipment do I need?

Your spray machine must be capable of supplying proper heat and pressure and be capable of maintaining both while processing within 2% of ratio. Knowing the intended use and production rate desired in order to properly process the products will be consideration when choosing your machine. Click here to see: how a spray foam machine works.

Where do I get training?

In order to install a successful membrane, the “Spray Mechanic” has to know three basic things:

  1. The proper procedure in handling a spray application job,
  2. What the material should look like as it is being applied,
  3. What to do if there is a problem with the equipment on the job and have the ability to correct any problems.

As the foundation behind every successful spray company. Training is supplied free at our location with the purchase of a spray machine or rig. We also offer free online spray foam training, in-classroom training, and on-site training.
