Spray Foam Equipment Repair and Maintenance

People usually use the term, “if it isn’t broken, don’t fix it”. This term makes customers think they shouldn’t “waste” their money on maintenance because it isn’t broken or it doesn’t need it. By performing a regular preventive maintenance, you are assured your equipment continues operating under safe conditions, both for the machine and the operators. Possible issues can be nipped in the butt before they have a chance to cause harm.

When you give your equipment regular maintenance, you’re being proactive in preventing damage that can happen to it as a result of lack of care. Also, instead of thinking you’re “saving” money when you’re not doing maintenance, you will end up spending more than that “saved” money when you have to buy brand new equipment.Continue reading

All You Need to Know About Spray Foam

Spray Foam Insulation and Industrial Coatings

When there’s a job to be done, you need the right equipment and appropriate materials to complete it accurately and efficiently. SprayWorks offers a range of different materials for industrial coatings, spray foam insulation, and roof coating systems.

Ensuring you have the right type of material for your unique project is essential to an effective application, and our team of knowledgeable, trained professionals is happy to match you with the best material for your next project or design. Depending on your job, we have three different categories of materials, so no matter what you need – we’re prepared.

Spray Foam Insulation

We offer closed-cell and open-cell spray foam insulation, which can suit a variety of insulation projects. When determining which foam insulation to use, you need to account for the R-value of both open and closed-cell, as well as where you will be applying the material – either interior or exterior of the building. Spray foam insulation is more durable, airtight, and energy efficient than traditional fiberglass insulation or blown insulation.

Roofing System

We recommend spray foam insulation for roofs, along with polyurea coatings for waterproofing. While closed-cell spray foam is the most commonly used spray material in roofing due to its strength and water-resistance, a polyurea coating can be applied on most any substrate. Many roofing contractors use a combination of both spray foam insulation and polyurea coatings in their jobs – which provides both structural strength and protection from various types of weathers.

High Performance Coatings

Polyurea coatings are perfect for applications that require waterproofing and protection and have a wide range of uses across various industries including; roads, bridges, parking decks, water tanks, and more. From residential to commercial, our industrial coatings are the preferred choice for sealing and water-resistance. With quick-cure properties and easy application, spray polyurea can expand your spray foam insulation business and bring a whole new market to your attention. These high-performance coatings can be applied in many different environments, including damp, cold, or humid substrates and high ADT’s.

Versi-Foam and Versi Tite Spray Foam Kits for Insulation Contractors

Versi-Foam spray foam kits allow the user to control how much spray foam they are dispensing by how hard you pull the trigger. With the U-Control spray foam gun the user can regulate the quantity of foam being dispensed at a rate of approximately 6 pounds per minute, down to a rate that you can write your name with it.

Versi spray foam insulation is ideal for insulating, air sealing, sound dampening, condensation control, caulking, and void filling. Versi foam applies to commercial and residential construction, plant and facility maintenance, HVAC equipment, roofing repair, marine flotation and insulation, pool and spa insulation, stage/film props and special effects, insulation used within trucks, trailers, buses, and much more…

When working with spray foam kits, always use:

  • Chemical resistant safety goggles (where respirator does not cover the eyes)
  • Chemically resistant protective clothing to ensure there is NO EXPOSED SKIN
  • Nitrile gloves (which are included in all Medium and Large Size VERSI-FOAM Systems)
  • A NIOSH approved respirator from the following options:
  • Half-mask respirators with organic vapor cartridges and particulate filters (P100).
  • Half-mask respirators require a fit test and cartridges and filters should be changed in accordance to a regular schedule.
  • Powered Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR) with an organic vapor cartridge
  • Refer to the Operating Instructions and the Material Safety Data Sheet for additional information on Safe Use and Handling of the VERSI-FOAM systems.

Polyurea Supplies for Protective Coating Applications

SprayWorks offers high-performance polyurea coatings, which are produced by a chemical reaction of two components. These coatings are multi-purpose and serve a wide variety of uses – spray in bed liners, garage floors, roof coating, roads, and bridges to name just a few. Our polyurea coating manufacturers include eco-friendly options from Green Insulation, affordable options from Gaco Western, and a large variety from Wasser Advanced Coatings Technology.

How does it work?

When applied, these protective coatings cure quickly and are able to withstand varying atmospheric conditions, including high humidity and low temperatures. We recommend these industrial coatings for a wide range of applications across many trades such as transportation, building and construction, and landscaping.

Truck bed linings, railcar linings, and conveyor belt linings can all be coated with spray polyurea. Polyurea is also a vital part of spray foam roofing systems, as it adds waterproofing and UV protection to the roof.

These coatings create a seamless, waterproof lining on wood, concrete, metal and foam surfaces – in addition to other substrates. We recommend industrial coatings for both residential and commercial applications, from aquarium and pond linings to reservoirs, cold storage and mechanical rooms.

7 Benefits of Spray Foam Insulation

Spray foam insulation can provide unique benefits to your home and family. Though people usually feel intimidated over the initial cost, it’s well worth it considering the value it adds to your comfort.

1. Powerful Insulator

Spray foam insulation works far better than other popular types of insulation. Because of its expansive nature, spray foam tightly seals all nooks and crannies that otherwise would have been left exposed.

2. Energy Savings

Spray foam insulation has shown to provide energy savings at an average of 50% or more, unlike other types of insulation that average a savings rate of about 30%. Making families and business save a significant amount of money.

3. Air-tight Seal

Spray foam insulation is uniquely capable of thoroughly sealing holes and cracks in your attic or crawl space. Spray foam insulation creates a powerful airtight seal that has shown to be 24 times less permeable to air infiltration than other types of insulation.

4. Moisture Barrier

Spray foam insulation is impermeable to water. This means that not only will spray foam thoroughly seal and protect your attic and crawl space from airborne moisture and leaks.

5. Deters Mold

Spray foam is not only water resistant, but it is composed of an inert polymer that provides no source of food for mold or bacteria. Homes that are insulated using closed-cell insulation are better protected against mold and mildew.

6. Long-life Span

The inert polymer that spray foam insulation is comprised of allows it to have an indefinite lifespan. This allows homes and businesses to enjoy the benefits of spray foam insulation for years on end before needing to re-insulate and make their investment worth it while saving money over the course of 20 years.

7. Eco-Friendly

  • Spray foam helps reduce energy consumption and create a ‘green’ household.
  • Protects against moisture and mold growth.
  • Designed to last indefinitely, producing fewer consumed materials.
